TIME TO FILE PERSONAL PROPERTY RENDITIONS

Personal Property Assessment for the 2023 tax year begins January 1 in the County Appraiser’s Office.

According to K.S.A. 79-303, every person who owns or holds tangible personal property must list said property for assessment with the County Appraiser on or before March 15, annually.

Items to be listed for taxation include but are not limited to mobile homes, non-highway vehicles, vehicles with heavy tags, campers that do not qualify as RVs, aircraft, boats, jet skis, trailers, golf carts, snowmobiles, ATVs, mopeds, and commercial equipment, supplies and machinery.  Also, all new improvements to real estate throughout the year need to be reported to the Appraiser’s office.

The Gove County Appraiser’s Office is open Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30 and during the noon hour to accommodate taxpayers.  Since a signature is required on the assessment form, we will not be able to accept assessments by telephone, email, or fax. Renditions can be returned to the office in person or by mail.

If you have questions concerning Personal Property Assessment, please call the County Appraiser’s Office at 785-938-2301.
